Adige-Po Cycle Track

The Adige and Po rivers are two of the most important waterways in northern Italy, since 2013 it is possible to visit the territory that they cross pedaling along the Adige-Po Cycle Track. It is a rather simple and well-marked itinerary, about 35 km long and runs largely on a protected roads. Starting from Lendinara, on the shores of the Adige, you reach Polesella, overlooking the Po.

The bike path crosses the region of Polesine, a particularly nice flat area from the landscape point of view and in which some canals flow. You pedal surrounded by vast cultivated campaigns that change appearance and colors every season making the trail really enjoyable in every season of the year.

The bicycle track starts at Barbuglio, a small town in the municipality of Lendinara, and after about 4 km it reaches the city center. From here, the paved path continues along the channel of Adigetto for another 6 km and arrives in Villanova del Ghebbo and then until Fratta Polesine. To the south of the town lies an archaeological area of great importance for the territory, where two necropolis of the Bronze Age were discovered. Later, along the track, you pass in front of Villa Badoer, Palladio’s work and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

After passing Fratta Polesine, the Adige-Po cycle path leads to the White Canal and follows it through the village of Frassinelle Polesine and touching the territory of Arquà Polesine. If you want you can make a small detour to visit the Estense Castle that overlooks the town. There are now only 7 km on arrival, you just have to cross the channel southwards and then reach Polesella on the shores of the Po.
